Vickers Hardness Test เครื่องทดสอบความแข็งโลหะโดยใช้หัวกดเพชรมีลักษณะเป็นปิรามิดฐานสี่เหลี่ยม ที่ปลายหัวกดทำมุม 136องศา (เป็นมุมที่มีองศาใกล้เคียงกับหัวกดลักษณะกลมมากที่สุด) สามารถวัดค่าความแข็งได้ตั้งแต่โลหะที่นิ่มมาก (HVประมาณ 5) จนถึงโลหะที่แข็งมากๆ (VHNประมาณ1500) โดยไม่ต้องเปลี่ยนหัวกด จะเปลี่ยนก็เฉพาแรงกดเท่านั้น โดยมีตั้งแต่ 1-120kgf ขึ้นอยู่กับความแข็งของโลหะที่ทดสอบ
